This year known as the ABB FIA Formula E Championship, is a class of auto racing that uses only electric-powered cars. The series was conceived in 2011, and the inaugural championship started in Beijing in September 2014. ...

It was the brainchild of Alejandro Agag with a bit of help from FIA kingpin Jean Todt.

A bit of a slow burner initially the race series has maintained momentum by cleverly finding a perpetual list of new sponsors and also some interesting and creative city centre venues.

The Gen 2. 2019 Racecar

This year hails the introduction of the second generation race car, certainly a sexy looking beast by any stretch of the imagination.

The Gen 2. 2019 Racecar

The new car for 2019 has 250kW equivalent to roughly 335 bhp, 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds and a top speed of around 174 mph.

In 2019,on the track, spectators will, for the first time see races completed without the need for the unusual spectacle of car swapping as the first generation of cars batteries were unable to run for a complete race distance.

The 2019 Formula E has 13 Races, visiting 12 Cities on 5 Continents. Manufacturers including Audi, Nissan, Porsche, BMW and Jaguar compete in the series with latecomer Mercedes joining in 2020.
