The UK wants to make it mandatory for house builders fit EV Charge Points in New Builds.
The UK Department for Transport has announced a public consultation and wants to have electric charge points fitted to all new-build homes. It would make it mandatory for homebuilders to install charge points for EV Cars and plug-in hybrids.
Also the Department for Transport said that all public charge points should accept contactless payments, with no need for a subscription. This will stop EV and PHEV owners from having to sign up with the all the different companies that run the UK’s network of public chargers.
