Tomorrow’s camper van will also drive itself.

The I.D. BUZZ is  Volkswagens van of the future.

Its electric range is up to 600 km (NEDC). The four-wheel-drive I.D. BUZZ can be charged either inductively or via a charging station.

It will have a fully automated driving mode and with a bit of luck will be launched in 2022.

The ID. Buzz is the world’s first multivariable electric van with a fully

automated driving mode. It’s a real space sensation with up to eight seats and two luggage compartments. It has LED “eyes” instead of headlights and opens them when it starts up. When it wants to turn off a road, the LED headlights flash in the direction of travel. When it registers people at the edge of the road it looks at them. The vehicle’s electric range is 600 km (NEDC**). The battery uses inductive charging or can be connected to a charging station. The battery reaches 80% capacity after 30 minutes of charging at 150 kW (DC).

VW boast that the ID.Buzz has room for up to eight seats as well as two luggage compartments – one at the front and another at the rear. The steering wheel has been redesigned and the vehicle interior does not have any spokes or buttons, instead it has a kind of touchpad with sensors.

The driver will be able to use a navigation system with head-up display. This will project informational graphics, such as navigation direction arrows, into the driver’s field of view on the windscreen, appearing to be some 7 to 15 metres ahead.

The ID. BUZZ takes on new energy inductively or from a charging station. At a charging power of 150 kW, it takes around 30 minutes to charge up to 80 per cent.

Can’t wait for 2022 and driving this hippie re-creation !….cool-dude !!
